Brass Shell Case Engraving

Turn a piece of battlefield history into a lasting testament to tūmatauenga and duty. We transform your spent ordnance into a premium display piece to honour service and preserve military heritage.

Honouring the 16th Field Regiment

Most pieces featured in our gallery are 105mm artillery shell cases fired by the New Zealand Army’s 16th Field Regiment. These brass casings carry the raw energy of live exercises, making them the ultimate canvas for soldiers, whānau, and military enthusiasts who appreciate mana and heritage.

The Diamond-Drag Method

We use traditional diamond-drag engraving to etch your history into the metal. A non-rotating diamond-tipped spindle physically carves clean, deep grooves directly into the brass.

The grooves catch the light naturally, creating a classic, sharp gleam (for greatest effect bring the shell to us unpolished).

The Ultimate Army Farewell Gift

These engraved shell cases are popular within the NZ Army as a poroporoaki gift for departing soldiers and officers. They are also perfect for marking promotions, corps milestones,  presenting to a host unit whilst on exchange, or celebrating family military history.

Please Note: We do not supply the brass. This service is strictly for engraving the shell cases that you provide to us.

If you have an @nzdf.mil.nz email address, or turn up in uniform with ID, let us know and we can give you access to over 150 unit insignia and our private NZDF catalogue.

Customisation Options

Bring us your 105mm artillery brass, 50-calibre casings, or any other ordnance brass. You supply us the details and we will engrave it onto your casing to create a timeless showpiece.
